Hyderabad: In view of the forecast for heavy rains in Hyderabad for the next couple of days, all private and government-run schools and colleges in the jurisdiction of the GHMC have been directed to remain closed on Friday and Saturday, according to a statement released by the chief minister’s office.
Chief minister KCR also asked them to take the assistance of the state police wings, Rapid Action Force and disaster management teams in view of the forecast for heavy rains. He asked the elected representatives such as MPs, MLAs and corporators to remain in their respective constituencies and provide all possible assistance to the people especially those residing in low-lying areas.
The chief minister urged the people to be aware of the extraordinary rains being faced by the city and prepare contingency measures for their commute to work.
